Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones this website uses, why, and how you can manage your choices. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains in general how we process personal data.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit it. They allow the site to recognize your device on subsequent visits, remember information about you, and, depending on their purpose, measure audience or personalize content and advertising. This policy also covers similar technologies (e.g. local storage, pixels) with the same effect, referred to collectively as "cookies".
2. Data Controller
The data controller for cookies used on this website is:
TRAVEL SETTER S.R.L.
- Registered office: Via Antonio Gramsci, 18 – 50129 Florence (FI), Italy
- VAT number: IT 07312960482
- Certified email (PEC): travelsettersrl@pec.it
- General inquiries: info@travelsetter.it
3. Categories of Cookies Used
When you first visit this website, a consent banner lets you accept, reject, or customize the following categories individually. Your choice is granular: accepting one category does not imply consent to the others.
3.1 Strictly Necessary / Technical Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled. Under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (implementing the ePrivacy Directive) they do not require your consent, as they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested (e.g. remembering your cookie preferences).
- Consent-preference cookie (first-party), stores your accept/reject/custom choice for each cookie category described in this policy, so the banner does not reappear on every page. Duration: 12 months, or until you change your choice. Purpose: enabling this website to comply with cookie-consent obligations. Legal basis: legitimate interest / necessity (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 122(1) Privacy Code exemption).
3.2 Preference Cookies
These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as language) to provide a more personalized experience. They require your consent.
Status: not currently in use on this website. If activated in the future, this section will be updated, before activation, with the name, purpose, provider and duration of each cookie in this category, and the banner will request your consent before any such cookie is set.
3.3 Statistics / Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the website (pages visited, time spent, navigation paths) so we can improve it. Where used, we configure Google Analytics in accordance with Google's Consent Mode: no analytics cookie is set, and no data is sent to Google, until you grant consent for this category.
Status: not currently in use on this website. If activated in the future (e.g. Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager), this section will be updated, before activation, listing the specific cookies (name, purpose, duration, provider), the fact that Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited acts as the relevant sub-processor, and the safeguards applicable to any transfer of data outside the European Economic Area (Standard Contractual Clauses), with a link to Google's own privacy policy.
3.4 Marketing / Advertising Cookies
These cookies may be used to show you advertising relevant to your interests and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (e.g. via Google Ads). They require your explicit, opt-in consent and are never set by default.
Status: not currently in use on this website. If activated in the future, this section will be updated, before activation, with the same level of detail described for Statistics cookies above.
4. Legal Basis and How Consent Works
Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless of your choice, on the basis of necessity/legitimate interest as described above. All other categories are set only after you actively opt in through the consent banner (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent). No non-essential cookie is set before you make a choice: this website uses Google's Consent Mode so that, technically, no third-party script (e.g. Google Tag Manager) is even loaded onto the page until you grant consent to the relevant category.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, with the same ease with which it was given, using the "Manage cookie preferences" link available in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
If you reject or do not consent to non-essential cookies, the website remains fully accessible: only the specific enhanced features tied to the rejected category (e.g. anonymized usage statistics) will not be available. Access to the website is never made conditional on accepting non-essential cookies.
5. Retention Period
Your recorded choice (accept / reject / custom preferences) is kept for 12 months from the date it is given, after which you will be asked again. Any individual cookie's own duration is stated next to it in Section 3 above once that category is active.
6. Your Rights
As a data subject, under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR you have the right to: access your personal data; obtain rectification or erasure; restrict or object to processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Italy, the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or the data protection authority of your own EU member state of residence, work, or of the place of the alleged infringement.
To exercise these rights, contact us at travelsettersrl@pec.it or info@travelsetter.it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. Material changes, in particular, activation of any Statistics or Marketing cookie category currently listed as "not in use", will be reflected here before that category is activated, and you will be asked to provide (or confirm) your consent again.
